Stanford Smart Sensing Systems (S4) Lab
We develop new wireless communication and sensing methods with a strong emphasis on ultra-low power consumption. This work includes many efforts, from enabling ultra-low power satellite connectivity to building end-to-end wireless sensing systems for environmental monitoring. To ensure the long-term, sustainable operation of wireless devices, we explore energy-harvesting solutions and energy-efficient circuits, enabling devices to operate without batteries.
We are committed to addressing pressing environmental challenges through the development of advanced sensing networks. We design and deploy wireless sensor networks that enable real-time monitoring of environmental parameters including, air, water, and soil quality, providing valuable insights for environmental preservation and disaster management.
